About Virtual Post Gaming

What Virtual Post Gaming Covers

Virtual Post Gaming is an independent website about games you think your way through. We cover puzzle games, from Tetris and its many descendants to first-person logic puzzles like Portal and The Witness and rule-bending designs like Baba Is You. We explain digital card games such as Hearthstone, Magic: The Gathering Arena and Marvel Snap, deckbuilders like Slay the Spire, Monster Train and Balatro, and digital adaptations of board and tabletop games, from Wingspan and Ticket to Ride to Board Game Arena and Tabletop Simulator.

We write evergreen explainers, beginner guides, strategy fundamentals and histories that are meant to stay useful long after a patch or a season. When something depends on a specific version, format rotation or date, we say so. We do not cover real-money gaming of any kind, and we do not encourage spending on card packs or in-game currencies.

Our Categories

  • Puzzle Games – how puzzle games work, how to approach them without spoilers, and guides to the genre’s landmark series.
  • Deckbuilders – roguelike and tabletop-inspired deckbuilding games: rules, characters, drafting principles and difficulty systems.
  • Card Games – digital collectible card games and classic card games: rules, formats, archetypes and the fundamentals of good play.
  • Digital Tabletop – board games on screens: official adaptations, Board Game Arena, Tabletop Simulator, online chess and virtual tabletops.
  • History & Design – where these games came from and what makes a puzzle or a card game work.

Who Writes Here

Articles on Virtual Post Gaming are published under the name Nora Whitfield. This is a pen name used by a small independent editorial team, and we say so openly. We do not claim to be professional players, game designers or industry insiders. What we commit to is careful research, clear writing and linking to the sources we rely on, such as official game sites, rulebooks, developer talks and established reference wikis, so you can check our work yourself.

How We Work

Every article is researched against primary sources wherever possible: official game and publisher pages, patch notes, rulebooks and published developer interviews or conference talks. AI tools help with drafting, and every piece is fact-checked and edited by a person before it is published. You can read more in our editorial policy.

Independence

Virtual Post Gaming is not affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment, Wizards of the Coast, Second Dinner, Mega Crit, LocalThunk, Playstack, The Tetris Company, Valve, Asmodee, Board Game Arena, Berserk Games or any other developer or publisher. Product names and trademarks belong to their owners. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled as “Sponsored”.
